Before and After School Care

St. Francis Xavier School in Buffalo, MN is seeking an individual to join our before and after school care staff.  This individual would be responsible for the supervision of students, planning of activities, and recording attendance.  Before school hours are 6:30-9:00 a.m. and after school hours are 2:00-5:30 p.m.

The ideal candidate would have a high school diploma or higher degree, strong communication and collaboration skills, and be a practicing Catholic.  Experience working with children is preferred, but not required.  Substitute Teacher

General: Preschool – 8th Grade

St. Francis Xavier School is seeking candidates to serve as substitute teachers. Acceptable candidates would be added to our call list and scheduled as needed throughout the school year. The ideal candidate would have experience teaching, strong communication and collaboration skills, and able to teach in a Catholic environment. A teaching license is not required, but a four year degree in any area is preferred. Substitute training is available.  

STFX Custodian Position

Full-time or Part-time Position

St. Francis Xavier is seeking to add an additional custodian to our highly motivated and dedicated team.  This team members work hours will mainly be  Monday-Friday, with an occasional weekend or on-call. This position will work at both the church and school locations.  This is a benefits-eligible position if FT hours.  If you are more interested in part-time work, this position could possibly be part-time.

Responsibilities include the following, but not limited to:
  • Must be punctual and reliable.
  • Good working techniques in lifting, pushing, pulling and other motions.
  • Ability to move tables, chairs, equipment and supplies up to 50 pounds.
  • Be able to safely operate cleaning equipment such as vacuum and floor machines.
  • Able to climb ladders and walk stairs.
  • Knowledge of cleaning materials and chemicals, ensuring safe use of all.  Making sure to follow Federal, State, and local statutes, and according to manufacturer instructions and safety data.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Maintain a positive and helpful attitude at all times.
  • Accomplish all tasks assigned by Head Custodian in carrying out the daily, weekly, monthly, annual, seasonal and special maintenance plans.
  • Lock and unlock facilities according to schedule and as needed by other staff, parishioners, and volunteers.
Qualifications
  • Must be able to pass required physical.
  • High school diploma or equivalency required.
  • Previous maintenance or custodial experience preferred.
  • Blood Borne Pathogen training required (on the job training provided).
  • Class D Boiler license helpful, but not required.
